OPEN GARDENS 2011
Once every three years, Dollar has its "Open Gardens" programme when residents of the village throw open their garden gates allowing visitors to view their horticultural efforts. This year there were over 25 gardens to be enjoyed and entry to them all by way of one single £5.00 "passport" (children free). Despite some unseasonable weather there were many interested visitors who, in addition to the plant sale at the Burnside Hall and afternoon teas at the Burnside Hall and St James' Parish Rooms, raised another handsome sum for Strathcarron Hospice.
